Fox float dps remote conversion4/11/2023 ![]() ![]() Had an S-works epic previous seasons with a fox stepcast with lockout that I used what felt like 20x's per race. I come from full blown XC and XC Marathon background. Try the bike out in a couple of races without ordering the lockout stuff yet. US and Canada the DPS factory retails for 679€ here, just to give you an idea of the price difference. Keep in mind that the prices here are different. Here, the full rebuild of the DPS costs 150€ and the conversion to 2-pos remote was estimated to cost 160€ for parts and 60€ for labour, altogether 210€. The frame is also very light, so you should be able to make this one of the lightest xc/xco builds as well. For xc, you can use anything between 100-120mm of fork travel to alter the geo and behaviour of the bike and head angle and bottom bracket height can be altered by flipping bottom shock mount. The conversion isn’t that expensive that you should be regretting your bike choise. The only reason for me getting one is that I’m participating a 5 days stage race in the Alps and the climbs there are ultra long and steep. I believe that in XCO you would pedal a lot unseated? If that’s the case, you may be looking for a remote. The bike is very efficient to pedal but there are times when you would like to firm up the shock. ![]() Click to expand. Most people don’t need a lockout on the Epic Evo, but I am also planning to get one.
